The AC Graphitization furnace (shown below) is composed of the bottom of the refractory furnace (built on the reinforced concrete foundation) and two end walls equipped with conductive electrode groups, which has a rectangular distribution.
The role of the end wall is to fix the conductive electrode group, the outer refractory bricks or carbon blocks, the inner graphite block, the middle of the wall is filled with graphite powder to form a sealed packing space, several conductive electrodes (graphite electrodes) through the end wall, the diameter and quantity of conductive electrodes are determined according to the current strength of the graphitization furnace when energized.
The electrode temperature increases during energup, so the conductive electrode is cooled. Both sides of the furnace body are made of refractory bricks into side walls, and the wall panels made of heat-resistant concrete can also be placed on both sides of the furnace instead of the furnace wall. The function of the side wall is to ensure the space occupied by the installed products and auxiliary materials.
The length of the furnace is 10~12m, about 1m wide, about 20t long each time, 14~16m, 3m wide, 40~50t and a length of 18~20m wide, about 100t each time.
AC Graphitization furnace is the most widely used graphitization furnace in the world. Since its invention in 1895, it has been rapidly promoted in all countries in the world. For a long time, it has occupied the dominant position of graphitization furnace.
AC Graphitization furnace has been continuously improved and perfected for one hundred years, and its development from AC furnace to DC furnace is a major technological breakthrough. Some main technical indicators (such as power transmission time, unit power consumption) and product quality have been greatly improved, but the inherent shortcomings of AC Graphitization furnace, such as low thermal efficiency, small yield per unit area capacity, uneven temperature and other shortcomings still exist.
The application of serial graphitization furnace has ended the situation of AC Graphitization furnace dominating the world.
